Why do I need plants in my work space or home?

Scientific studies show that adding plants inside a building creates financial, emotional, and health benefits. Plants make buildings appear more welcoming, expensive, and relaxed. Plants decrease stress, enhance productivity, attract and retain employees, and reduce distracting noise. Plants even help purify the air from environmental toxins. And of course, they look great!

Why should I hire Perfect Plants?

Perfect Plants saves you time! You'll have extra time available to grow your business, pursue your hobbies, or spend with your family and friends!

Perfect Plants saves you aggravation! You no longer have to deal with messy water, soil or chemicals. And no more embarrassment when clients or friends notice less-than-perfect plants!

Why should I buy or lease my plants from Perfect Plants?

Our plants are grade A, shipped fresh from Florida, and each one is individually selected for your location. We can special order unusual varieties or sizes of plants to meet your needs. In contrast, plants from discount and home stores are often grade B, and may be suffering from pests or diseases because they have not received optimal care in the store. This typically results in slow growth, eventual decline, and/or sparser looking plants that just don’t have that “healthy glow”.

What are the benefits of leasing versus purchasing my plants and containers?

You may prefer to lease if your budget is tight right now, if you might be relocating or remodeling within the next few years, or if you simply want the flexibility to change the style of your plants and containers frequently . You may prefer to purchase if you expect to enjoy the same plants and containers for many years or if you wish to saves some money in the long run. We can give you an estimate both ways, so that you can choose which is best for you.

What services are included in a maintenance visit?

Our experience horticulturists visit regularly to water, trim, clean, and fertilize as needed, and to monitor and treat your plants for any pests or diseases.

When and how often do maintenance visits occur?

Typically, visits occur once a week, normally on the same day of the week. From time to time, we may have to shift that day a bit due to scheduling conflicts, but only in a way that will not negatively impact the care of your plants.

Is there a minimum charge for maintenance service?

Maintenance service starts at $65/month. Prices vary based on the number, condition, and type of plants; the distance from our office in Westminster; if a maintenance guarantee is included; and if you buy or lease your plants and/or containers from Perfect Plants. Jobs that do not involve regular maintenance service are quoted individually. Please contact us for a free, no-obligation estimate.

If I already have plants, can you maintain them for me?

Of course! However, we cannot guarantee our maintenance service unless Perfect Plants supplies the plants.

What exactly is “interior landscaping”?

Interior landscaping is NOT a quick visit with a watering can! Rather, it is the art and science of choosing and caring for live indoor plants to enhance the interior of a commercial or residential building.

Interior landscaping by Perfect Plants begins with appropriate plant selection, based on years of experience with different varieties of plants and their ideal growing conditions. Interior design principles are applied so that containers and plants work together to make an artistic statement.

Perfect Plants' weekly maintenance visits are performed with extraordinary attention to detail to make sure that every plant looks beautiful and stays healthy. Watering and fertilization are customized for each variety and size of plant, and adjusted to match constantly changing indoor temperature and lighting conditions. Plants are pruned and rotated to maintain a pleasing shape and to keep them from outgrowing their space prematurely. Dusting and polishing keep leaves healthy and shiny.

With proper selection and care, most plants never develop disease or pest problems. However, in the rare event that they do, Perfect Plants uses integrated pest management techniques to eliminate or reduce the application of chemical pesticides whenever possible.

Healthy plants live for a long time. But because plants are living creatures, they do have a finite life span. Perfect Plants knows the proper time to retire a plant, well before it begins to be an eyesore, and at no additional cost to you because your indoor foliage plants are guaranteed!

Why can’t I just take care of my plants myself?

Some people don't understand the value that an interior landscape professional provides. They wonder, "Why not save a few bucks and just take care of the plants myself?"

Occasionally, this works out fine. A few people are blessed with a green thumb, or have the years of experience, study, or research to choose the ideal plant for a situation and give it the care it needs. If you are one of these people, good for you! The world would be a happier and saner place if more people were gardeners.

HOWEVER, just look around you and see the many businesses and homes with lanky, bug-infested, half-dead plants that no one has the time or knowledge to care for properly. How did this happen? It usually goes like this...

The office or household manager picks up a cheap plant at SuperHomeDiscountMart. They plop it down in an empty spot. After a few days, they decide they should water it, but they aren't sure how much water it needs. They look for a plant tag. It's either missing or incorrect. So they dump some water into the pot, forgetting that the plant didn't come with a saucer, so it leaks water everywhere, damaging the expensive wood table or floor.

After a few weeks or months, leaves start to turn yellow or brown. Some of them drop off, leaving big bare spots. Little white or black bugs start flying around. The soil starts smelling funny. The plant becomes an embarrassment, so it gets shoved into an inconspicuous corner where no one can see it. Of course, since no one sees it, no one remembers to water it. Months later, it is discovered shriveled up and dead.

So they make another trip to SuperHomeDiscountMart to pick up a new plant. This one doesn't have a tag either, so they don't realize that it is very sensitive to cold. Today happens to be one of those blustery winter days with a ten degree temperature and 40 mph winds. They don't know that their new plant will be hopelessly damaged in that 30 second walk to the car in the bitter cold.

And on it goes, with one horticultural disaster after another, until finally they give up and decide not to bother with plants any more, because they just are too much trouble.

Too bad they didn't think to call Perfect Plants in the first place! Instead of months of wasting money, time, and effort, they could have been enjoying an indoor space filled with luxuriant, healthy live plants!
